Mission R: Combination of Honda CBR600, KTM, and Ducati


Technology and design of electric supersport motorcycle increasingly sophisticated. This was mainly on bikes used for racing in the arena TTXGP or eGrandPrix. Entering the third year TTXGP in 2011, one of its members are Mission Motors of San Francisco, USA. They introduced the flagship electric motorcycle, the Mission R.

Bike with sexy figure and this aesthetic is the work of two famous designers Mission Motors, namely James Parker and Tim Prentice of Motonium Design. James Parker specially commissioned to design the chassis, while the body, the fairing, and the rest handed over to Tim Prentice, a designer of industrial products are already much modified a large motor.


Further, the figure of exotic Mission R obtained because the designer is able to unite pieces of Honda CBR600R figure (on the fairing and body), KTM RC8 (rear seat), and Ducati 900 (order).

Not only that, technology or products that are grafted to prop up the performance motorcycles is also great. Components front and rear suspension uses shock absorbers (shock absorber) are the same as on a motorcycle for MotoGP, that Ohlin. The same is visible on the brakes (Brembo) and wheels (Marchesini).


Compact Battery
Although not specify the size of batteries and electric motors are used, including other woods supporting components, motorcycle power source is considered to be very compact by Mission Motors and claimed to be smaller than 600 cc supersport engine.

Mission Heart R is a three-phase induction electric motor that produces power and torque of 141 PS Nm@0-6.400 156 rpm. Electric motors are alternating current (AC) is cooled by the liquid. The lithium-ion batteries are paired here have the ability to store electric energy 14.4 kWh. For once the contents, the battery can run a motorcycle drive up to a distance of 250 km and reaches a top speed of 250 km / hour. Meanwhile, the electric motor power was transferred to the wheels transmission single speed.

The battery consists of several modules are equipped with an integrated control system. Battery management system will adjust the charging current and the energy released to rotate the electric motor. This energy source is packaged in a box made of carbon fiber coated with a dielectric material.

Interestingly enough, Mission R features a skeleton who imitated from Ducati with yellow paint. Frame is made from a mixture of billet aluminum and chrome pipes. Furthermore, data or the condition of major components, namely the battery temperature, voltage, power when driving, speed, GPS coordinates, and other monitored through WiFi and 3G connections.
